Sports’ Morning and Picnic Lunch, Wednesday 17th July, 9.15am to 12:15pm

We would like to invite you to come along and support the children on Wednesday 17th July when we will be holding our annual Sports’ Morning, which will be held on the school field.

The morning will consist of 13 field events that all children will compete in, followed by a series of competitive races. The event will be followed by a community picnic lunch which parents and carers are invited to attend on the school field. The children will need to bring in a packed lunch for this. Please note, a school dinner cold option will be available for the children to order if required. Following the conclusion of the picnic at 1.00pm, the children will return to their classrooms until the usual finish time of 3:20pm. The event will be weather dependent, with the school reserving the right to cancel, and a decision will be made on the day as to whether it is feasible and safe to go ahead. Please note the plan for the event as stated below.

Please ensure that your children come to school dressed in their school PE polo-shirt in addition to their school PE shorts or jogging bottoms, trainers, hat and that they have their hair tied back (if applicable). No jewellery should be worn and please ensure they have a named water bottle with them.

Please can you also ensure that sunscreen is applied to the children before the start of the school day if needs be.

Children with asthma or other medical conditions will need to ensure that they have their medicines in school with them on this day.

Please note that upon commencement of the sports morning, the school gates will be locked at 9:30am to safeguard the children on site. Entry and exit for sports day after the school bell is only via the main gates at the end of the Community Centre car park.

Smoking or the use of e-cigarettes is not permitted within the school grounds; no animals of any type must be brought on to the school grounds; and the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Anyone not adhering to these rules will be asked to leave immediately. We also ask that all parents and guests respect the layout of the field and the boundaries set. Please listen to and respect the guidance from all staff to make sure that all competitors remain safe. If you are taking photographs these must be of your children only. We do not have consent from all parents/carers for all children to be included in photographs and as such we must ask that your photos are for personal use only and are not shared on social media.

We value your participation with our school and we look forward to welcoming you on the day, which I’m sure will be an enjoyable experience for all!
