Admissions

Applications to attend Hook Junior School are made via Hampshire County Council (HCC). The Hampshire County Council admissions website summarises the current stage of the main round and in-year admissions processes, in addition to providing guidance for making an application for a year R, Year 3 and Year 7 school place.

Applications for a school place in year 3 when term begins in September are known as the 'main round' and you can make your application between 1 November and 15 January. Hampshire County Council assess and award all applications for the main round and notify you of the outcome of your application on 19 April.

Applications made any time after the main round are known as 'in-year' applications. When you make an in-year application via the Hampshire School Admissions website, your application is transferred to the School and assessed against the Admissions Policy for the current year. If you meet the criteria of the Admissions Policy and we have capacity to admit your child, we will write to you with an offer. If you meet the criteria of the Admissions Policy and we do not have capacity to admit your child, we will write to you with a refusal, advise that you are on a waiting list and offer guidance on what to do next.

We publish Admissions policies for the previous, current and next Academic year:
