Your password will need to be changed every 90 days and it's and important part of keeping your account secure and also the data you have access to.

Passwords need to have some features that make them more difficult for a human or computer to guess. Our passwords must therefore be at least 7 characters in length, they must include a mix of both upper and lower case characters and at least one numeric character. An invalid password would be 'fairguess', but a valid password would be 'FairGue55'.

There are several different ways to change your password. Let's take a look at each.

If your password has already expired

If your password has already expired, Windows will ask you to change it at the Login screen. In this case, you must change your password before you may login.

If your password hasn't yet expired, but will expire soon

If your password hasn't yet expired, Windows will remind you to change it several days beforehand. Click the small popup that appears after you login to change your password.

Changing your password at any time

Finally, you can change your password at any time by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del keys simultaneously and then select the 'Change Password' option.

PS: Children's passwords do not expire.

Changing your Office 365 (email) password

  • Visit https://www.office.com/signin
  • Login with your username (email address) and current password
  • Open the Settings pane by pressing on the gear wheel at the top right of the page
  • Select 'Change Password'
  • Enter your current password, followed by your new password (twice) and press Submit
