Giving Every Child the Best Start in Reading
Reading is a key skill for all pupils to learn and is integrated into our curriculum. The library helps to support the our vision of promoting the breadth and variety of reading in school. We also aim to foster a love of reading for pleasure.
Our banded reading books support children as they learn to read with confidence, fluency and enjoyment. Unfortunately, many of our current books are well‑worn, outdated, or incomplete after years of daily use. We are fundraising to replace our reading scheme so that every child has access to high‑quality, engaging books that meet their learning needs.

Banded reading books are carefully chosen to:
- Match a child’s reading ability step by step
- Build confidence and independence
- Support phonics, comprehension and vocabulary development
- Encourage a lifelong love of reading
Many of our existing books have:
- Torn or missing pages
- Out‑of‑date content that no longer engages pupils
Replacing them will make a real, immediate difference in classrooms every day.

- Ensure full sets are available at every level
