On Wednesday 17th October, parents and carers of year 5 children were treated to a wonderful Harvest assembly that took everyone on a journey through Asia, America and Africa.

The children showcased their dance talents, tackling the traditional folk dance of the Tamil Nadu region of India, in addition to reading out poems they composed that focused on the sounds of harvest. Weaved in between were some excellent narrations which taught everyone about the type of crops grown and the celebrations and traditions experienced in the regions featured. This was all bookended with 2 up tempo songs, "It's Harvest Time" and, "Harvest Samba", which the children sung beautifully, enthusiastically recognising the importance of this special time and respecting what it means to people all over the world. The year 5 teachers were all very proud of the children for their effort and commitment, and the children should be very proud of themselves.
