Essential ICT Skills

Using Information Communication Technology (ICT) confidently is a key skill that all pupils will develop as they progress through school. Being able to learn new ICT skills whilst at home and practice existing ICT skills will be beneficial to all children, who will be required to complete a variety of ICT activities that take place frequently in the classroom.

The suggested skills below are indicative of the abilities that all children should possess, or at least have some understanding of. Each of these skills will be covered in curricular activities at school to ensure that the ICT abilities of all children reach an appropriate level. Where possible, exposure to practical ICT whilst at home will greatly improve the opportunities for a child to have successful and productive ICT experiences.
