In November, all children particiated in an art day, with the product of this contributing to the official opening of our new school building.

Every child in every class designed and decorated trees to make one collaborative piece of stunning art work which is now on display in the main building.

Our work, was influenced by a number of artists including Hundertwasser, Chris Ofili, Yayoi Kusama and a number of Viking crafts people. In the morning we investigated different patterns in our sketch books using different art equipment; we then planned patterns for our trees. After lunch, we decorated and completed the trees, using our unique designs.

On the 10th of November, our creations were used in the celebration for the opening of the new school building. Our local MP, Ranil Jayawardena and many other people from our local community came to the opening of the new building.

Amy M, 6VH said 'I really enjoyed creating different patterns as we were able to use our imagination.'
