A Visit From The Life Bus
As part of the schools Personal, Social and Health Education, we will soon be receiving our annual visit from the Life Education Mobile Classroom, affectionately known as the 'Life Bus' by many schools.
Life Education Wessex is a charity providing health and drug education support to schools. The specially equipped classroom provides an unforgettable experience for the children whilst contributing to our Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship curriculum. Fun, interactive and age-appropriate programmes help children to understand the wonders of the human body and how to look after it.
At Key Stage 2, the experienced and trained Educators help children to consider the effects and risks associated with the use of drugs, including medicines, alcohol and tobacco. In addition, children learn skills of friendship and how to cope with bullying and peer pressure. Each session is designed to be appropriate for a specific age group.
We are sure that all children will find this a rewarding, informative and stimulating activity and we encourage you to discuss their participation with your child afterward. Workbooks (one for each age group) which can be used at home to support your child’s learning, are available during the sessions for a small charge.
The Life Education Wessex team provide a number of resources for parents of each year group via their website. We have provided direct links to these below for you to refer to after your child has enjoyed their Life Bus experience. Each document is in Adobe PDF format.
You can find out more about Life Education Wessex and their work with schools on the Life Education Wessex website.
