Year 6 children arrived at school today with suitcases full of clothes for their week away at PGL Marchants Hill outdoor activity centre.

A long and exciting day started at the sound of the school bell for year six children as they arrived with their cases full of essentials ahead of a week away at the PGL Marchants Hill outdoor activity centre. Classrooms were filled with excitement from the start of the school day until children departed mid-afternoon, waved on their way by many parents.

After a short coach ride to their destination, it was time to unload their luggage and discover where they will be staying for the week. Each dormatory has a number of bunk beds in one room and in another there's a toilet and shower. It's unlikely that children will notice the lack of a view from their window since the time they spend in the dormatory will be limited to sleeping or getting changed for their next activity!

For their first evening, the instructors have gathered everyone around the camp fire to sing songs and tell stories. The lead instructor has shared a bizarre tale of a pink brick - ask your child if they can remember and recite this story to you when they return home at the end of the week!

Children will have breakfast first thing tomorrow morning before starting their first activity. Each day will typically consist of either two short or one long activity before lunch, followed by either two short or one long activity during the afternoon.
