Children In Need 2014

On Thursday 13th November 2014, we will be helping celebrate another year of fundraising in support of Children in Need.

'BBC Children in Need’s vision is that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood and the chance to reach their potential. We will realise this vision by supporting, promoting and publicising work that addresses the challenges that children and young people face and work that builds their skills and resilience.

BBC Children in Need is currently supporting 2,600 projects that are working with children facing a range of disadvantages for example, poverty and deprivation; children who have been the victims of abuse or neglect or disabled young people.’ (Children in Need vision statement).

This year, we will be supporting both the Post Office ‘Be A Hero’ and the ‘Bear Faced’ campaign.

Two bespoke designs of the ‘Be A Hero’ badge are now on sale at the Post Office, priced at £1 each. 100% of proceeds from the sales will go directly to BBC Children in Need as the Post Office aim for their biggest year of fundraising ever.

Children may come into school on Thursday 13th November 2014 dressed either as a superhero to support the ‘Be A Hero’ campaign, or as a bear (either with their faces painted or dressed up). We ask that children donate £2 or more in support of Children in Need. The children will also learn about Children in Need and all that they do during a special celebration assembly, as well as other activities during the day.

We hope to see as many children as possible join us ‘Be a Hero’ or ‘Bear Faced’ for the day and we look forward to sharing some interesting costumes!

There will, of course, we prizes for the best dressed children and staff!
