Marchants Hill - Thursday

Peering out through the window this morning we all saw a rare sight... the sun! The rain had finally given us a break. On top of this Sophie and Lizzie Page were woken with a chorus of Happy Birthday along with Mr Whitehouse (the teachers were looking forward to sharing a slice of cake). With a spring in our steps - and bringing our rain coats just in case - we headed out for our last full day.

Trying out the rafts we built

After enjoying another hearty cooked breakfast we swapped tales of yesterday's adventures. Having heard the stories of the activities yet to come we were all excited.

Mrs Martin was greeted with a great cheer as she arrived this morning along with another special visitor, Danny Izzaguire, who had come to make sure his friends were having a great time.

Testing our strength we headed out for a few sessions of climbing. Working as a team we supported each other in facing our fears and achieving our personal goals. Our arms were certainly aching by lunchtime!

Everyone has had another successful day and special mentions go to:

  • Dylan - reaching the top of the climbing wall despite being afraid of heights.
  • Harriet - braving the pond waters (twice) during the raft challenge!
  • Ted - Never leaving a man behind on Jacobs Ladder.
  • Ed H - For a fantastic squirrel impression whilst suspended from the top of Jacobs Ladder.
  • Daria - For abseiling like a secret agent, James Bond style, and being a great team player.

After lunch we enjoyed a special treat of birthday cupcakes! (Thank you Mrs Page). We continued with some more exciting activities; fencing and aeroball but to name a few to work up an appetite for our last evening meal.

We would like to wish Charlie King a very Happy Birthday tomorrow and will look forward to celebrating with him for the last part of our adventure.

Prepare your washing machines for our arrival home. We have all had a fabulous week and look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
