Marchants Hill - Tuesday

It has been another glorious 'sunny' day at Marchants Hill!

Tackling the obstacle course

The morning started bright and early at 7 'o' clock with a hearty breakfast for all.  All had slept well considering the first night excitement and were raring to go.

Kitted up in their waterproofs, the children all went off into their group for the first activity of the day.  For four of the groups this involved designing and then building a raft.  Fortunately there were no Titanics as every raft successfully floated!  The children enjoyed paddling their rafts around the pond, demonstrating a high level of team work and collaboration.

At lunchtime, the children were all more than ready for a filling lunch.  It was lovely to see so many healthy appetites.

It was then back out into the sun, sorry rain, for the afternoon activities.  Every child has their own tale of success which they look forward to sharing with you but here are a few noteable successes of the day:

  • Aoife B - a quad bike star in the making
  • Gracie A and Sam D - courage on the Powerfan
  • Alex G - courage on the Zip Wire
  • Toby N and Anna H - Team work on Jacob's Labber
  • Mia B - super climbing skills
  • Molly R - supporting her team on the Rock Climbing
  • Oh and ............ Miss Collins for her leap of faith from the Powerfan

After a busy day, children (and adults) were ravenous and headed for the canteen for yet more food.

Finally the children enjoyed their evening activity called 'Capture the Flag' which was enjoyed by all.

The children are now tucked up in bed exhausted after such an exciting day but looking forward to tomorrow's adventures.

Unfortunately, we are finding it difficult to upload pictures due to limited Internet acces so we will endeavour to pick a 'Picture of the Day'.  Please be assured that on our return we will upload a variety of photos to the school website!
