HSPA

The Hook Schools Parents Association (HSPA) is a registered charity, which exists to raise money for both the Hook schools in order to enhance the children's environment and learning.
We also try to foster social contact between parents and Hook residents and reinforce the key roles of the schools in our village. As a parent of a child at either Hook Infant or Hook Junior School, you are automatically a member of the HSPA.
Members are represented by a committee of thirteen parents (who are elected at the Annual General Meeting, which is held at the beginning of the new school year), and both head teachers. Everyone should try to attend the AGM. It is an opportunity to express your views, or to put yourself forward for election as a member of the committee.
We run a variety of events throughout the year including the Summer and Christmas fairs, children's end of term Discos, social evenings and Bonfire Night Fireworks.Bonfire Night at the school is a major village event organised by the HSPA
Over the last few years we have helped finance a computerised library, dictionaries for each child, a covered walkway and supplementary drama lessons.
On behalf of the HSPA we would like to welcome all new parents to the HSPA. we hope your children will be happy at the school and reap the benefits of the HSPA fund raising events.

COMMUNICATIONS

We advertise events through our newsletters, which are sent out through the schools, Hook Focus and posters around the village. Around the time of the fairs we organise raffles and the tickets for these are also sent out via your children. If you have any suggestions or ideas for events, please do not hesitate to let us know either through the school office or via one of the committee members.
The committee of the HSPA is elected at the Annual General Meeting each September.
A number of the current committee have indicated a desire to stand down so if you are interested in helping please introduce yourself.

HELPERS

A number of events each year require additional helpers. In particular a number of marshals and short order cooks are needed for bonfire night and assistance is always welcome running stalls at the fairs or making cakes for sale at events. If you are willing to help please fill in the enclosed form and return it to either of the school offices.
